ITINERARY

Day 1:

Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport. Upon arrival at the airport, you will be met by your professional guide. They will transport you by jeep to the well-appointed Mount Meru Hotel for your overnight. The drive is approx. 1 hour.

Day 2:

Tarangire: After breakfast, you will proceed to Tarangire National Park for your first game drive. Along the way, your guide will provide you with information regarding Tanzania, its culture, history, and the many scenes of nature. Natural features include the giant Baobab tree and the many herds of elephants this region is known for. Lunch is provided. After your game drive is complete, you will be able to relax in the Maramboi tented camp, where you will enjoy a full dinner, including beer and house wine. Meals included: Breakfast (at the hotel), picnic lunch, dinner (with beer and house wine). You can relax at the pool and after dinner enjoy conversation and drinks around the fire in the Maramboi tented camp.

Day 3:

Lake Manyara: Enjoy a full breakfast at camp, after which you can go for a walk along the lake with a Maasai guide to escort you. Return for lunch, and then embark on another game drive to the Great Valley escarpment. The next stop is at Ngorongoro to check into your lodge at the Ngorongoro Farm House. Dinner, including beer and house wine, is provided. Meals included: Breakfast and lunch (at camp), dinner (including beer and house wine) at the lodge.

Day 4:

Ngorongoro: Descend to the crater floor for a full day game drive. Here you will enjoy many herds of animals including elephants, wildebeests, rhinos, leopards, cheetahs, zebra, lions, cape buffalo, and many of Tanzania’s beautiful birds. A picnic lunch in the crater maximizes your time here before ascending to the rim and back to the Ngorongoro Farmhouse. Here you can enjoy a leisurely dinner, with complimentary beer and wine, and discuss your favorite sights. Meals included: Breakfast, picnic lunch, dinner (including beer and wine).

Day 5-7:

Zanzibar: After a full breakfast, we will check out for our drive back to Arusha. Lunch will be provided prior to your flight to Zanzibar. Depart at 1 PM and arrive at 2 PM, you will be met and transported to Ocean Paradise Beach Resort for your 3-night stay with half-board (includes breakfast and dinner). Enjoy the many benefits of this beach resort, or have the concierge at the resort desk arrange one of the many optional tours or activities Zanzibar has to offer, such as the walking tour of Stone Town or a boat trip to Prison Island, a sunset cruise or a Joazani Forest tour, or many shorter activities, like parasailing, snorkeling, swimming with dolphins, etc. Please note that these excursions/activities would be at your own expense.

Day 8:

Airport transportation is arranged and you will pick you up for your flight home or onward to your next destination.

We will bid you a fond farewell until your return!

Accommodations as indicated, meals as indicated, game drives, park fees, flight between Arusha and Zanzibar, transportation to and from the airports and while on safari, bottled water while on safari, complimentary beer and house wine, free wifi, lunch on the last day in Arusha, and the expertise of our professional guides.

Excluded

International flights, visa fees, travel insurance, tips for your guides (recommended tip is $10-15/person/day), tips for the hotel and lodge staff, optional activities, and all items of a personal nature.
Please note that it is the guest’s responsibility to verify and obtain any inoculations that the World Health Organization recommends for travel to Tanzania. Please ensure that your passport is valid for travel for 6 months from the date of your arrival in Tanzania. Also, note that the time for processing visas for Tanzania may vary widely, so please ensure that you apply online in advance. Alternatively, advise us that you would like to use the visa service for an additional fee of $50 plus visa application fees. Travel insurance is mandatory.

Weather

Evenings can be quite cool in Ngorongoro, so please bring warm clothing. For the days, it is quite warm, so light-colored, quick-dry clothing, sunscreen, and a sunhat is recommended. A water-proof shell or jacket is ideal in case of any rainy days that may occur.

A deposit of 50% upon booking is required, and the balance of 50% will need to be remitted 60 days prior to departure. Pricing based on min 4 people. Above pricing is based on 2 people sharing.
